Why use the plugin?
ANK Image Compress checks the API response, file type, dimensions and file-size reduction before replacing an image. It keeps the original name and URL and stores the original bytes privately for restoration.

- Download the ZIP above and upload it through Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Create an account at ANK PicPress and obtain an API key.
- In WordPress, open Settings → ANK Compress, save the key and check the balance.
- Choose image sizes and enable new-upload processing or start a bulk run.
The plugin is available for direct ZIP installation; publication in the WordPress.org directory is pending.
Formats and usage
The API accepts static JPEG, PNG and WebP up to 5 MB and 20 MP. WordPress can create new WebP or AVIF thumbnails locally when the server supports them; AVIF thumbnails are not sent to the ANK API. API credits are purchased separately. See API pricing.
