ANK Image Compress version 0.1.1, including its Joomla administrator component and scheduled task plugin, is licensed under GPLv2 or any later version. You may use, study, modify and redistribute the extension under that license.

External image-processing service
The extension connects over HTTPS to the ANK Image Lab API. An account and API key are required to compress images. The service has a permanent monthly free allowance; optional paid credits and service terms are separate from the GPL license of the extension code.
