How it works

The component scans the images directory, lists 50 files per page and processes individual files or a bulk queue. It checks the API result, format and dimensions before replacing a file. Originals are stored outside the public site and can be restored.

Install and connect

  1. Download the package ZIP above. Do not unpack it before installation.
  2. In Joomla administration, open System → Install → Extensions and upload the package.
  3. Open Components → ANK Image Compress. Create an API key in your ANK Image Lab account and save it in the component.
  4. For automatic processing, enable the task plugin, enable automatic optimization and create a task under System → Scheduled Tasks.

Formats and terms

The API accepts static JPEG, PNG and WebP up to 5 MB and 20 megapixels. Image bytes and the API key are sent over HTTPS; Joomla login details are not sent. Processing beyond the free allowance may use paid API credits. API pricing · Privacy policy
